If you haven’t been diving in a while and are feeling a little rusty, our Refresher Dive is here to help. This dive is a quick catch-up session to refresh your memory and diving skills. An instructor or dive master will guide you through all the important details to make sure you feel comfortable underwater again.
If it’s been 6 months or more since your last dive, we recommend doing a Refresher Dive before joining a group for a deeper Fun Dive. But not to worry, our refresher dive site at Rock Island is still one to not miss out on! During the session, you will go over details like staying safe, handling problems that arise, equipment refresher, planning dives, using hand signals, learning about local marine life, and brushing up on basic scuba skills. This session will take part in the dive centre and the shallow lagoon (1-2m) of the ocean for skill practice. It’s a great way to make sure you feel confident before diving back into the water!
Upon arriving at the dive centre, our team of Divemasters and Instructors will warmly greet you. Your first tasks include completing necessary paperwork and a medical statement.
Following that, if you haven’t brought your own equipment, our team will ensure you are properly sized for the gear. Once everything is set up, you’ll get a detailed briefing where you can refresh your memory on diving basics and enhance your knowledge. You can also talk about which specific skills you’d like to work on during the dive.
With the assistance of our staff, equipment is loaded onto the boats (don’t worry, we will carry your tank to the boat for you 😉 ), and we embark on skill practice in a shallow water (either in front of the dive shop or at the end of the beach where sea is calmer and it’s easy to do exercises).
After making sure you feel comfortable with basic skills, we will move to the dive site for Refresher Dive (usually can be reached within 10 minutes). While diving, the Instructor or Divemaster will ensure that you feel at ease and comfortable throughout the experience. Depending on no-decompression limits, the dive typically lasts a maximum of 45 minutes or when you will reach 50 bars.
After the dive, we return to the dive centre. While our staff takes care of clearing equipment, you can relax and enjoy some tea prepared for you, and take in the beautiful sea view.
Pay just 10% online now to book your spot! The remaining balance is to be paid at the dive centre. We accept cash, bank transfer (Revolut, Wise and Monzo without any extra fee) and card payments (+3% bank surcharge applies).
